IWhy people drive here

A good sewing machine or vacuum can last decades. We're the shop that keeps yours running that long.

Big-box stores want you to buy a new one. We'd rather fix the one you have, especially the older machines that were built better than most of what's on the shelf today. A clean, an oil, the right adjustment, and it sews or cleans like it should.

When a repair genuinely isn't worth it, we'll say so and show you a sensible replacement instead. No upsell, no pressure. That's the reason folks in American Fork keep coming back, and why their kids do too.

IIWhat we do

Sales, service, and honest repair.

Two trades, one bench. Tap any line to see what's included.

  • Skipped stitches, thread bunching, timing off, tension you can't dial in, a motor that hums but won't turn. We clean, oil, re-time, and adjust so the machine sews evenly again. We work on mechanical and computerized models, and the older the machine, the more we usually enjoy it.

  • Lost suction, a burning belt smell, a brush roll that won't spin, a cord or switch that quit. We service upright, canister, and bagless vacuums, clear the clogs, replace worn belts and filters, and get the suction back where it belongs.

  • When it's time for a new one, we'll match you to a machine that fits how you actually sew or clean, not whatever carries the biggest markup. Sewing machines and vacuums on the floor to try, and honest guidance on what's worth your money.

  • The everyday stuff that's surprisingly hard to find anywhere else. Vacuum bags, belts, and filters, plus needles, bobbins, feet, and the odd part for an older machine. Not sure of the size? Bring the old one in and we'll match it.

  • Grandma's sewing machine deserves better than a landfill. We clean, oil, time, and adjust older and vintage machines so they sew like they did when they were new, and we'll be honest if a part is no longer made.

IIIOn the bench

Every machine gets the same care.

A tune-up here isn't a quick wipe-down. It's the same checklist on every machine that crosses the bench, whether it's a brand-new sewing machine or a vacuum that's older than the person who owns it.

Standard tune-up checklist Every machine, every time
  1. Diagnose what's actually wrongBefore any work starts, so you know the real problem and the real cost.
  2. Clean it out properlyLint, dust, old oil, and the gunk that builds up where you can't reach.
  3. Oil, time, and adjustTension, timing, belts, brush rolls. The parts that make it run right.
  4. Replace worn partsBelts, filters, bags, needles. Only what it actually needs.
  5. Test before it leavesA real stitch or a real run, so it's right before you carry it home.

The thing about a good machine: keep it tuned, and it keeps going for years.

VIICommon questions

Questions we hear a lot.

Do you fix all brands of sewing machines and vacuums?
We work on most makes and models, from older mechanical sewing machines to newer computerized ones, and on most upright, canister, and bagless vacuums. If we can't get a part for something truly obsolete, we'll tell you straight rather than charge you to find out.
How much does a tune-up or repair cost?
Most jobs start with a diagnostic so you know what's wrong before any work is done. We quote the repair up front and won't add parts you don't need. Call us at (801) 756-8158 for a current price on your machine.
How long does a repair take?
A lot of tune-ups and common repairs are done within a few days. If we have to order a part, it takes a little longer and we'll give you a realistic timeline when you drop it off. Quick fixes can sometimes be handled while you wait.
Is it worth repairing an old machine, or should I just replace it?
Often the old machine is built better than what's on the shelf today, and a tune-up brings it back for a fraction of replacement cost. We'll give you an honest opinion. If a repair doesn't make sense, we'll say so and show you a good replacement instead.
Do you sell machines too, not just repair them?
Yes. We carry sewing machines and vacuums along with the bags, belts, needles, bobbins, and accessories that go with them. We'll match you to a machine that fits how you actually sew or clean.
Do you carry vacuum bags, belts, and sewing supplies?
We do. Bags, belts, filters, needles, bobbins, feet, and the odd part that's hard to find anywhere else. Bring your old bag or belt in if you're not sure of the size and we'll match it.
Do I need an appointment to bring a machine in?
No appointment needed for drop-offs during shop hours. Just bring the machine in. If you want to talk through a repair first or ask whether we carry a part, give us a call at (801) 756-8158.
Do you service older or vintage sewing machines?
Yes, and they're some of our favorite jobs. We clean, oil, time, and adjust them so they sew like they should, and we'll tell you honestly if a part is no longer available.
What areas do you serve?
We're based in American Fork and folks come to us from across northern Utah County, including Lehi, Pleasant Grove, Highland, Cedar Hills, Lindon, Saratoga Springs, and Orem.
