Why people drive to Murray for it

Big-box stores mark the floor up and hand you a phone number for install. We do both ourselves, so the price is honest and one shop is on the hook.

Garden Gate buys flooring direct and sells it wholesale, so the same plank that costs a premium at a retail chain costs less here. No membership, no contractor license needed.

Then the same shop measures, orders, and installs it. If something is off, you are not stuck between a store and a separate installer pointing fingers. It is one place to call.

How it works

From the showroom to a finished floor.

Five steps, start to finish. Open any step to see exactly what is included and what we handle for you.

1
Step one

Walk the showroom

Come see and touch real flooring instead of guessing from a tiny online swatch. Tell us the room, the budget, and how it gets used, and we will narrow hundreds of options down to a short list that actually fits.

What you will look at

  • Hardwood and engineered wood, plank by plank
  • Luxury vinyl plank for kitchens, baths, and pets
  • Tile, laminate, and carpet, side by side
  • Take samples home to see them in your own light

Great selection and the staff actually helped us figure out what would hold up with three kids and a dog.

Step two

Get measured, get a real number

A guess on square footage is how people end up short on material or paying for boxes they never use. We measure the rooms properly so the quote is accurate and you order exactly what the job needs.

What the quote covers

  • In-home measure so the square footage is right
  • Material, install, and any prep, written down
  • Tear-out and haul-away spelled out, not assumed
  • A realistic timeline before you commit

Step three

Prep the subfloor

The part nobody sees is the part that makes a floor last. Old flooring comes up, the subfloor gets leveled and checked for moisture, and we deal with squeaks and soft spots before a single new plank goes down.

Done before install day

  • Old carpet, tile, or wood removed and hauled off
  • Subfloor leveled so the finish lies flat
  • Moisture checked, especially for basements and baths
  • Squeaks and soft spots fixed first

Fair pricing on the material and the crew left the place clean. Floors look great.

Step four

Install it right

Our own crews lay the floor, not a stranger pulled off a list. Seams lined up, transitions clean, trim and baseboards finished. The kind of install you only notice because nothing looks off.

Installed by Garden Gate

  • In-house crews, not a rotating subcontractor
  • Planks racked for grain and color, not just speed
  • Clean transitions, thresholds, and stair work
  • Trim and baseboards put back the way they should be

Step five

Walk it together

Before we call it done, we walk the finished floor with you. We clean up, haul off the last of the debris, and make sure you are happy with every room. If something needs another look, we come back.

Before we leave

  • A walkthrough of every room, with you
  • Debris and old material hauled away
  • How to care for your specific floor, in plain terms
  • One shop to call if anything needs another look

What's on the floor
01

Hardwood & engineered

Real wood character for living rooms, bedrooms, and stairs. Engineered planks handle Utah's dry winters and warm summers better than solid wood in a lot of homes.

02

Luxury vinyl plank

The go-to for kitchens, baths, basements, pets, and kids. Waterproof, tough, and it looks like wood without the worry about spills and scratches.

03

Tile

Built for water and traffic, from entryways to full bathroom floors. Cool underfoot in summer and easy to keep clean for years.

04

Laminate

A budget-friendly way to get the wood look in bedrooms and hallways. Comes in fast, wears well, and keeps the project number down.

05

Carpet

Warm and quiet for bedrooms, stairs, and basements. We help you weigh comfort, durability, and what holds up to the way your house actually lives.

The wholesale pricing is the draw. People mention paying less for the same material than they were quoted at the big chains.

Buying and installing in one place keeps it simple. One shop measures, supplies, and lays the floor, so there is one number to call.

Why people pick Garden Gate

Questions, answered straight.

The things people ask before they redo a floor. If yours is not here, just call and ask.

Do you sell wholesale to homeowners, or only contractors?

Both. You do not need a contractor account or a license to buy from us. Walk into the Murray showroom, pick what you like, and you get the wholesale price the same as a builder would.

What kinds of flooring do you carry?

Hardwood and engineered wood, luxury vinyl plank, tile, laminate, and carpet. If you are not sure what fits your home, your budget, or how the room gets used, we will walk you through the trade-offs in plain language.

Do you install, or just sell the material?

We do both. You can buy the material and install it yourself, or have our crews handle subfloor prep, removal, installation, and trim. Most customers have us install it.

How much does new flooring cost?

It depends on the product, the square footage, and how much prep the room needs. Because we buy direct and sell wholesale, the material cost is usually well below big-box retail. Bring your room measurements or a rough sketch and we will give you a real written number, not a guess.

Can you measure my rooms for me?

Yes. We offer an in-home measure so the quote is accurate and you order the right amount of material. A guess on square footage is how people end up short or paying for waste.

What areas do you serve?

The showroom is in Murray and we install across the Salt Lake Valley: Salt Lake City, Sandy, Midvale, West Jordan, Cottonwood Heights, Holladay, South Jordan, Draper, and Taylorsville.

How long does an installation take?

A single room is often a day. A full main floor usually runs a few days depending on demolition, subfloor repair, and the material. We give you a realistic timeline up front and keep you posted if anything changes.

Do you remove and haul away my old flooring?

Yes. Tear-out and haul-away of the old floor can be part of the job. We will spell out exactly what is included before you commit, so nothing is a surprise on install day.

Can I take home samples before I decide?

Absolutely. Lighting at home is different from showroom lighting, so we want you to live with a few samples for a day or two before you commit to a whole floor.

What about pets, kids, and water in the kitchen?

That is exactly the conversation to have in the showroom. Luxury vinyl plank and tile hold up to pets, kids, and moisture far better than most wood or laminate. Tell us how the room actually gets used and we will steer you to the right product.
