Plumbing and excavation under one roof. We fix the pipe in your wall and we dig the line in your yard, so a repipe or a sewer job is one crew from the first cut to the last shovel.

Clear quote before we start. We back our work.

01The shop

Most plumbers stop at the foundation. We keep going, through the wall and into the ground.

Plumbing and excavation usually mean two companies, two schedules, and a lot of finger pointing when something goes wrong. Stott does both. The same outfit that runs your new water line owns the machine that digs the trench for it. One crew, one number to call, one job done right the first time.

02What we do

From a dripping faucet to a full sewer dig.

Hover any line to see the work. Whether it is a small repair or a project that needs a machine in the yard, it is the same team start to finish.

  • 01

    Repipes & water lines

Old galvanized pipe, rusty water, low pressure, or a leak that keeps coming back. We repipe homes in copper or PEX and run new water mains from the meter to the house. You get a quote first and a plan for keeping the mess to a minimum.

  • 02

    Water heaters

No hot water, a leaking tank, or a unit on its last legs. We repair and replace standard tanks and tankless systems, size it right for your home, and haul the old one away. Same day when we can get the part.

  • 03

    Drain cleaning

Slow drains, a clogged kitchen line, or a tub that will not empty. We snake and hydro jet the line, then camera it so you know whether it was a one time clog or something building toward a bigger problem.

  • 04

    Sewer line repair & replacement

This is where doing both trades pays off. We camera the sewer to find the break or root intrusion, then dig and replace it ourselves. For many runs we can keep the dig targeted instead of tearing up the whole yard. We walk you through the options before any dirt moves.

  • 05

    Gas lines

New gas line for a range, a fire pit, a furnace, or a generator, plus leak checks and repairs. Gas is not the place to cut corners, so it is permitted, pressure tested, and done by the book.

  • 06

    Excavation & trenching

Trenching for water, sewer, and gas, plus footings, drainage, and utility digs. Before any machine starts we have Blue Stakes mark the utilities, then we dig clean, backfill right, and leave the site better than the usual contractor.

  • 07

    Fixtures & everyday repairs

Faucets, toilets, garbage disposals, hose bibs, shutoff valves, and the running list of small fixes every house collects. The same crew that handles the big digs is happy to handle the leaky faucet too.

03How it works

No mystery, no runaround.

1

You call, we listen

Tell us what is going on. A real person picks up and we ask the right questions to size up the job before we ever drive out.

2

We look, then quote

We diagnose it on site, camera the line if it is underground, and give you a clear price before any work or digging starts.

3

One crew does it

Pipe work and excavation are the same team, so there is no waiting on a second contractor and no one passing the blame.

4

We clean up & back it

We backfill, tidy the site, and stand behind the work. If something we installed is not right, we come back and fix it.

04The work

Pipe, ground, and the machines that move it.

Real plumbing and excavation work across Salt Lake City and the valley.

They did our sewer line and a repipe in the same week. One crew, one quote, and they kept us posted the whole time. The yard looked better when they left than when they got here.Representative of our Google reviews
Called about no hot water and they had a new water heater in the same day. Straight pricing, no upsell, and they hauled the old one off.Representative of our Google reviews
Honest about what we actually needed. They could have sold us a full repipe and instead fixed the one bad section. That is why we keep calling them.Representative of our Google reviews

A Stott Plumbing and Excavating excavator at work on a Salt Lake City trenching job Based in Salt Lake City

A Salt Lake outfit that owns its own machines.

Stott Plumbing & Excavating is built around a simple idea: the people who plan your water line should be the ones who dig the trench for it. We are based here in Salt Lake City and we run our own excavation equipment, so we are not waiting on a sub or marking up someone else's machine time.

That keeps jobs moving, keeps the price honest, and keeps one crew accountable from the first cut to the final backfill. It is also a big part of why we have earned 4.8 stars across 1,137 reviews.

07Questions

Straight answers, before you call.

The questions Salt Lake homeowners ask us most. If yours is not here, just call and ask. We would rather talk it through than have you guess.

Call (801) 467-2432
Do you handle both plumbing and excavation?
Yes, and that is the whole point of the company. Most plumbers stop at the foundation and most excavators do not know plumbing. We do the pipe work and we run the machines, so a sewer line replacement or a new water main is one crew, one job, start to finish.
What areas around Salt Lake City do you serve?
We work across Salt Lake City and the surrounding valley, including Murray, West Valley City, Sandy, Midvale, Holladay, Millcreek, South Salt Lake, West Jordan, and Cottonwood Heights. If you are near the valley and not sure, call (801) 467-2432 and we will tell you straight.
Can you replace a sewer line without tearing up the whole yard?
Often, yes. We camera the line first to see exactly what is going on, then choose the least invasive fix that will actually last. For many runs that means a targeted dig or a trenchless option instead of opening the entire yard. We walk you through the tradeoffs before any dirt moves.
How much does a job cost?
It depends on the work, but you get a clear quote before we start, not a surprise at the end. Small repairs are priced on the spot. Bigger jobs like a repipe, water heater, or sewer dig get a written estimate so you know the number going in.
Do you offer emergency service?
Call us as soon as you have a problem. A burst line, a backed up sewer, or no hot water does not wait, and neither do we. Phone is the fastest way to reach a real person and get on the schedule today when it cannot wait.
Are you licensed, bonded, and insured?
Yes. We carry the licensing, bonding, and insurance Utah requires for both plumbing and excavation work, and we will share the details before we dig or cut a single pipe.
Will you call 811 and locate utilities before digging?
Always. Before any excavation we have public utilities located through Blue Stakes of Utah (811) and we work carefully around gas, power, and water. Digging blind is how people get hurt and lines get cut. We do not do that.
How do I know if I need a repipe or just a repair?
If you have repeated leaks, low pressure, rusty water, or old galvanized pipe, a repair may just buy a little time. We will tell you honestly whether a spot fix makes sense or whether a repipe saves you money over the next few years. No upsell for the sake of it.
Do you stand behind your work?
We do. We back our workmanship and we use parts that hold up. If something we installed is not right, we come back and make it right. Our 4.8 star rating across 1,137 Google reviews is built on exactly that.
